PURPOSE

  • The Purpose of Humans playing on Red Air in UOAF BMS events IS:
    • To enhance training/experience for Blue
    • To slot everyone when more players show up than fragged slots
    • To fly and die
  • The Purpose of Humans playing on Red Air in UOAF events IS NOT:
    • To max attrit Blue Air Players
    • To play "tricks" to try and win (NOE, SuperHigh/Fast, etc)
    • To win at all costs
    • To maximize fun for Red Air

EMPLOYMENT PRINCIPLES

These are standard employment principles. If you have contracted a specific behavior/tactic in support of blue, then do that!!!

  • RADAR
    • If you can take a STT RADAR lock
      • Take it (closest contact to furthest)
      • Try to drive a Blue Defensive Reaction
      • After 10-15 seconds, Drop the lock and lock the next closest contact
  • NOT SHOOTING
    • Demonstrate WEZ (capture it on OBS/etc if you can, post pictures/video for debrief/bragging value)
    • In a merge, Gain/Maintain Control Position
      • Try to drive Blue Air Player Defensive Maneuvering
      • Try to drive Blue Air to use Teamwork to DeLouse (this results in you, red air, getting killed)
  • SHOOTING (can be beneficial, gives smoke trail, gives launch/missile warning on opponent RWR)
    • ARH Missile (Fox 3): Fire it outside of envelope (Low PK shot) or Snip it before Husky
    • SARH Missile (Fox 1): Snip it before Impact
    • Heater Missile (Fox 2): Fire it outside of RMax and/or without tone
    • Guns: Place shots across the bow, where the defending fighter will see the tracers
    • A/S: If you are playing a striker... And you get WEZ, Strike your target!!!
  • CATM
    • If you are loaded with CATM munitions, then let em fly!!!
  • DEFENSIVE MANEUVERING
    • Perform standard defensive maneuvers
    • DO take advantage of your jet's capabilities (i.e. twin engine, big thrust)
    • Use standard counter measures
    • Avoid super "gamey" reactions (flanker pull-up, etc)
  • OFFENSIVE MANEUVERING
    • Perform Standard Tactics (Offsets, Brackets, Splits, Grinders, etc)
    • Punish / Press against Blue Air Mistakes
    • Avoid super "gamey" offenses (ambush)
  • JAMMING
    • Use standard/briefed ECM

FLIGHT BRIEFING AND SETUP

  • TEAM OR SINGLE?
    • If more than 1 Red Air, will you fight as a team? Or spawn into flights and go single?
  • SPAWNING
    • If spawning into existing/pre-fragged Red Air Flights, take the lowest seats first (#4, #3)
    • Let the AI drive the flight/element (switch off of the AI flight frequency, for your own sanity)
    • If fragging flights, frag human slots only, do not take red AI with you
    • If not flying in F-16's
      • Consider deleting the cockpit model to show an F-16 cockpit
      • The standard F-16 CMS buttons don't always map to adversary aircraft (like Mig29)
  • COMMS
    • Decide if you want to use Discord
    • If you want to use UHF/VHF, agree on a frequency to manually dial in (i.e. 234.0 / 123.0)
  • TACAN
    • Stay off of the Blue Air TACAN blocks (15/78 - 19/82) Use something like 25/88 or 35/98.
  • DATALINK
    • Check the briefing before you launch for your DataLink bracket. Should not conflict with Blue Air.
  • RESPAWNING
    • If you get killed, you have to exit BMS to the desktop (kill IVC) and come back
